TERMS
Last updated: 9 September 2026
These terms explain how to use SurfSnap, buy photographs and supply photographs as a photographer. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
Using SurfSnap
SurfSnap connects surfers with photographs supplied by photographers. Search using a photograph of yourself and the details of your session, review the results and choose which photographs to buy.
Search only for yourself or someone who has given you permission. Do not use the service to identify or track people without their permission, access another person’s account or obtain photographs without authorisation. Keep your sign-in details private.
Checking your matches
Face matching can miss photographs or return an incorrect match. Check each preview to confirm that it is the photograph you want before buying. Results depend on the photographs available for your session; a search does not guarantee a match.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. Each photograph’s price and your order total are displayed before payment. Stripe processes the payment.
A checkout marked “Sandbox” or “Test” is for testing and does not represent a real purchase.
Receiving your photographs
After successful payment, you can download the photographs you bought at the resolution supplied by the photographer, without SurfSnap’s preview watermark.
Your purchase email links to your purchase page, where you can get fresh download links. Individual file links are valid for 24 hours; reopen your purchase page if they expire. Save a copy of your files and keep your purchase link private. Purchases made through a surfer account can also be accessed through that account; guest purchases do not automatically appear in an account.
If you cannot open your purchase page or a download does not work, contact support@surfsnap.com.au with your order reference so we can help.
Your personal-use licence
Buying a photograph gives you permission to use it for personal, non-commercial purposes. This includes keeping a digital copy, making prints for yourself and sharing it on your personal social media accounts.
The photographer retains copyright. A purchase does not transfer ownership of that copyright or permit resale, commercial advertising or other commercial use. Contact us if you would like to arrange additional permission from the photographer.
Problems with a purchase
If a file is missing, damaged, incorrect or otherwise not as described, contact us with your order reference and a description of the problem. We will investigate and arrange an appropriate remedy.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. Downloading a photograph does not remove those rights. Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a replacement, refund or another remedy. The ACCC provides information about these rights.
Supplying photographs
Photographers must hold the rights needed to upload their photographs and offer the personal-use licence described above. You are responsible for accurate prices and session details, and for the permissions, consents and permits required for your work.
Additional photographer terms covering fees, payment arrangements and refund handling must be agreed before photographs are made available for public sale. Contact us about these arrangements before supplying photographs.
Photograph and copyright concerns
If you have a concern about a photograph of you or believe a photograph has been uploaded without the necessary rights, contact us with the photograph reference and details of your concern. Our Privacy Policy explains how to request access, correction or removal of personal information.
Contact and changes
For questions about these terms, your account or a purchase, email support@surfsnap.com.au.
We may update these terms as SurfSnap develops. The date above identifies the latest version. Later changes will not reduce the rights or licence attached to a purchase you have already made.
